Antioxidant Potential of the Biosynthesized Silver, Gold and Silver-Gold Alloy Nanoparticles using Opuntia ficus-indica extract

Nanobiotechnology has become a resourceful/crucial research area due to their copious applications in industrial, pharmacological and medical fields. In the current study, silver nanoparticles (OFI-AgNPs), gold (OFI -AuNPs) bimetallic alloy (OFI-Ag-AuNPs) were mediated with Opuntia ficus indica (OFI) extract. Evaluation of antioxidant potential biosynthesized was done through total phenolic content (TPC), flavonoid (TFC) Nitric oxide scavenging assay. The nitric activity, contents synthesized increased dose dependent manner as compared standard. OFI-AuNPs had highest phenol 258.28 µg GAE/g OFI-extract gave least value 216.64 at concentration 100 µg/ml. (83.88 g-1 QE) recorded OFI-AgNPs, while 21.38 QE obtained OFI-extract. OFI-Ag-AuNPs showed power 50.8%, followed by OFI-AgNPs (42.2%), (40.3%) 29.7% µg/mL.
